Zebra Danio is struggling

One of my Zebra Danios has had a bulging stomach for a few days and he seems to have lost that sleek torpedo shape. He's got what I would describe as an arch in his back. His behavior is staying low in the tank and sort of treading water in one spot. He didn't come up to eat tonight. I thought it might be dropsy but there is no sign of his scales pointing out which I read was a symptom of dropsy.

He's in a 38 gal. tank with 11 other community fish, all of whom look and behave normally. The tank has been up and running for about 12 weeks. We have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5 PPM nitrate, and pH of 7.6.

Any ideas?

Get him out of the tank before he makes your other fish sick. If you dont have a nurse tank I would suggest a bucket if you got it. You will want to feed him some peas and get some maracyn-two if you can find it to treat the dropsy. He may not make it though.

Thanks. I've quarantined him to a bucket. I offered him some shelled pea but he hasn't eaten any. I don't have any maracyn available though if he makes it through the night I'll get some tomorrow. I'm new to this and didn't think about having an antibiotic on hand for the inevitable time when it would be needed.

I've given him the first dose of marycin-two this evening. The fish is holding his own so far, though his color has faded quite a bit.
