| too good to last... Well here I am halfway into restocking my 20g and I got impatient with the length of the quarantine. So, since everyone was doing so well and I was feeling pretty safe I put all the fish together in the main tank. All's well!
Or so I thought. My oto had had white poo while in his 3g, and since he was eating white-fleshed zucchini and otherwise seemed ok I thought all was alright. Then yesterday I noticed one of my female cherry barbs looks...black. Like she's been dusted with soot. Her behaviour was normal, and I thought she was changing colour for whatever reason (miscalled that one before!)
Well today the male cherry barb also looks black. I've heard of a parasitic infestation called 'black spot' but have never seen it; I now think that's what it is. The male cherry also has white stringy poo - as does the oto and my dwarf gourami.
Today I bought some Parasite Clear tabs by Jungle. What I plan to do is dose 3 times with 48 h and a 25% WC in between each dose. I've then read (can't remember where) that I should re-dose in a few weeks. Can anyone advise regarding the re-dosing - is it necessary, and if so, when? |
