| orange speckles ? my female dalmation mollie has some orange speckles on her body but she had it when i got her from a specialty petstore. they dont seem to go away or spread and i was wondering if she just isnt a pure blooded dalmation mollie
or if she is sick. if shes sick then what could of caused it and how do i heal her?
thanks in advance |

| It sounds like she's a cross between a dalmation & an orange mollie. Maybe she just has a marble pattern. |

| It is not uncommon to find dalmation mollies in the pet store with that coloration. I had them like that myself with a few speckles of orange. Im sure your molly is fine! |

| thats great thanks for your help.
i know this is off topic but i dont want to make a new thread and i cant find the info on the web. i have a cycling 10g that i want to move my feeder goldfish Buddy into because right now hes in a puny 1g container with NO filter!!! the tank has been set up for about a week and i need to know if making water changes will speed up the prosess or slow it down. can you help me!?!? |

| if you have an empty tank cycling, NO water changes are needed and it will slow down the cycle process if you do...if you have fish in it, you must do daily changes....what are you cycling the 10 gal with? |

| i have no fish or snails in the tank just some live plants that im going to remove becaies the waters too cold for them. i put in water conditioner, bacteria suppliment, and prime. |

| what type of bacteria suppliment? and higher temps cycle faster ...so if theres no life form in there, id crank up that heater |

| the bottle just says TopFin Bacteria Suppliment and i dont have a heater because its a coldwater tank for my goldfish but maybe i could get one soon for when its cycling, besides it will become a quarentine tank for my tropical fish when Buddy moves into the pond.
sorry if i spelled somthing wrong, i got a C in english Last edited by midnightwolf; January 27th, 2009 at 01:28 PM.

| if you have an established tank, cut some of the media off the filter, put some subtrate from the older tank into the newer one, and cycle that way.....the only bacteria so far that ive seen do its proper job with the cycle is tetra safestart, and bio spira (which now only has a marine version) |

| oh i allready put in the bacteria suppliment but i do have somthing called Start Right that i got from a neiboor it is a tablet that disinigrates in the water and says that it makes water safe for fish immediatly, would that work or is it the same as tetra safe start? it also says it is safe for all fish types. |
