| In my opinion, the best cure for an ich outbreak is to gradually raise the temperature in the tank to around 84°F, and leave it there for a couple of weeks. The increased temperature will kill the ich spores (and reduce the amount of available oxygen in the water, so an airstone would be a good addition if you don't already have one), and a thorough gravel vacuum will remove them after they die and fall off.
There are a lot of medications out there, but why use chemicals when you don't have to? edit: I just looked at your aquarium info and noticed you have some type of invertebrates... avoid CopperSafe, in that case. Copper is toxic to many inverts, and you probably don't want to medicate the fish only to kill the other inhabitants. Last edited by mathas; January 18th, 2009 at 04:39 PM.
