Fish severely bloated

I have a couple little glo fish, the ones that are related to the little zebra danios, but anyway on of them was fine the other night and then in the morning when I checked she was seriously bloated. One side of her is bigger than the other, it's really strange! Does anyone know if this is some kind of disease or if she has eggs stuck in her......I don't know I was just wondering if anyone does?

Hey Fishqueen,

So just one side is bloated is it having any other problems? fadding, staying at the top more, not eating, scales sticking out, stringy poop?
What is your water change/gravel cleaning schedule?
Any other fish acting odd?
Egg binding, tumor come to mind, but not sure, some one else may have an idea, sorry I could not help...good luck

some of her scales are sticking out on the side that seems to be bigger. I clean my tank every 2 weeks and no other fish are acting odd...so any suggestions?

The egg binding thing you mentioned, will it go away on it's own or what? and anymore info on the tumor?

Hey fishqueen,
I think I may have answered this for you already, but if not...what I have read it that egg binding is fatal some treatment with epsom salt done but you have a tetra and they do not tolerate salt.
Tumors often fatal can be aspirated but unless you feel that you could do that I would think it would cost a bit at a vet
but now you say that the scales a sticking up-could be dropsy which is a symptom of what ails your fish-once stagged-out also fatal.
I really wish I could help, sorry....
preventive is always best-water quality in number one reason fish get sick, new fish is next and then stress. I would keep on a water changes of 25-50% weekly include gravel cleaning and rinsing your filter-condition water as needed per your water needs, water refill temp same as aquairum temp.
Good luck and sorry about your fish
