up date on my silver / bala sharks with white spot please help

hi all just thought id let some of you that were kind enough to respond to my previous thread whats going on ,
i done a 30 % water change and vacumed the gravel cleaned all inner sides of glass cranked my heater up but sadly the white spot has bloomed even worse covering the sharks head to fin and leaving there fins very ragged, the water quality is spot on so it has to be the introduction of the torpedo barbs ,
i couldnt bear it any longer and brought a white spot treatment for my tank which i administered wednesday sadly on thursday my smallest silver shark could take no more and died, the other two bigger ones look worse are not swimming and there scales look awful i have got to re treat the tank on sunday, but am worried as to weather they will pull through and the amount of suffering they are in ,
in everyones opinion is it cruel to keep them going ,
i love my sharks so much but cant bear the thought of them suffering only to die a painful death any way
thanks amanda

I'm so sorry to hear about your fish. . . This is by far the worst part of the hobby.

thats a hard call to make sometimes. i usually give them the chance to fight it out. if they survive....physical pain eventually goes away as it does with us. i usually will only euthenize them when they can no longer swim upright and are obviously going to drown...otherwise i treat them and give them every chance in the world. nature has shown that us as humans will try to survive any situation no matter how badly we may be affected physically. animals i think are even more basic as far as survival instinct and i would assume would also like every opportunity to live if given the chance.
