Ich?

My little molly keeps glancing off objects in my tank, I don't see any signs of ICH on him, do they do that when they try to mate? When they get ich does it effect their appetite?
My platy looks like he's got a little white spot on him but I'm not sure what to make of it, because I've never seen what it looks like, any suggestions

Does it look like a grain of salt?
To be on the safe side, slowly increase the temp to 83-84F ans increase aeration to make up for the lack of oxygen in the waremer water. Leave it there for at least 2 weeks and do a good gravel vac to get rid of the spores.

The fish is still in the main tank the temperature in my tank stays at about 80F, and I just did a gravel vac a day ago....should I repeat this? Is there any pictures available so maybe I could see what ick looks like and compare it to my fish?

I was told to raise the temp and put salt instead of chemicals is that true? (I figured I would ask, you all at FishLore have been most helpful)

you can google ich images and see if yours have it...raising the temps to 83 as lucy said will kill it..not 80....and no salt because some of the fish you have in the tank cant tolerate it...so give it the two weeks with higher temps instead...

Some people use salt for ich, I don't know the recommended dose.

Take a look at my first post. Raising the temp to 83-84F for 2 weeks. That will kill the ich on the fish and any spores in the gravel.
Continue to do regular maintance, at the end of the 2 weeks do a thorough vacuum to get rid of the spores.
