medication

I picked some parasite medicine for my sick molly.....it's called Parasite Guard by Jungle, does anyone know if this treats internal parasites?

I have used the Jungle Lab parasite clear, but not the parasite guard. I would imagine since it does say for parasites that it should work. Inside the box it has a pretty good information list on what types of diseases the medication treats. You should be able to find the type of parasite your molly has in that list and go with that.

Well that's the problem, it doesn't really clearly state if it's for internal or external parasites. The lady at the petstore (which I've learned to get other opinions now) said that the medicine would pass through the fish through the water and the medicine would rid her of the parasites. This is also the lady that said tropical fish don't need aquarium heaters in their tanks ( I don't know how true that is but sounds lil fishy to me). I was just wanting to inquire about the medicine to see if anyone was familiar with it.

How long does it usually take to treat fish of the disease? Does anyone know maybe a list of commonly used medications so I can pick them up and be ready if something happens next time?

It's hard for me to find stuff around here, I'm getting ready to go shopping out of town and I would like to pick some stuff up while it's available.

If you want to treat internal parasites, you can soak their food in the meds an hour before feeding, plus treat the water, and that will make it more effective.

Medicasted food will be better choice if it is still eating rather than soaking since difficult to calculate the dosage.. Very hard for Med in the water to work on for internal parasite.

As far as No heaters in tank. I only see it possible if one's tank is in tropical zone.

Good luck!
