It is a viral infection to connective tissue cells. Never actually experienced lympho in
FW but numerous occassion on S/W fish.
I have experienced growing of tumors on S/A Cichlid when exposed to very acidic water for prolonged time where acid -fast Bacteria caused fish TB. Another symptoms were curving of their spine due to TB which were permanent.
It is best to isolate the infected fish to prevent spreading to others if it is Lympho.
Sanitize your equipments well (Hot Water, Drying ).
When or if tumors are big enough to to removed, may want to try removing using scarpel. Disinfect the area where you have performed minor surgery w/
iodine using Q-tip. Blow on it to dry and return to
QT. It may take long time to eliminate visual symptoms but possible. Ususally only infected cells are hypertrophic.
