My JD has a swollen Anu.!!

Can Anyone tell me what's wrong with my fish? He hasen't eaten for a week. and has a swollen anus. He also has a red blood looking spot on one fin that I haven't noticed before. Occasinaly he twitches his fins. His dorsal was clamped down.

He's a Jack Dempsey 2 years old in a 72gal. by himself, besides a plec. and a large snail.

All the water checks seem fine. Water has been changed 20-30% every 2 weeks. Carbon filters have been maintence properly, with a strong Biological system working.

I'm treating him for a internal Bacterial infection. 3rd day into a 5day plan, but haven't noticed any changes. except for maybe the un-clamping of his dorsal.

Thanks for the replies, I'm using Mardel Maracyn-two Medication. It's for Dropsy, Septicemia, Popeye, and Fin and Tail Rot. (Virbac Animal Health)
He's the only fish in his home tank, and yes the carbon has been removed during medication.

My test results:
Ammonia 0 PPM
nitrite 0 ppm
nitrate 20 ppm
pH 7.4
These test results #'s are during the medication, before treatment the nitrate wasen't quite that high. I'll keep a close eye on it.

Once again Thanks alot for the help.

Swollen anus usually means an internal parasite, possibly worms.. I would treat with an anti parasite asap.
