rummy nosed tetra

hi

i have a problem with one of my rummy nosed tetras, 1 of them has what looks like a worm either attached or inside its dorsal fin, the worm ( if thats what it is ) is white and about 3 millimetres long, its hard to see if it really is a worm, as the fish move so fast!, ive tried to get a photo but unable to get one so far! what ever it is it is bothering the fish, he keeps flicking the fin...has anyone any idea what this could be? and also what treatments i could use, i dont want to use any meds, more into natural products, so far ive done a water change, although the water was fine, added some aquarium salts and started to use garlic guard in the food

any advice would be most welcome, thanks in advance.

i wouldn't doubt it would be a worm, especially if the fish is now to the point its flicking the fin. I've personally never delt with external parasites rather than ICH, so i wouldn't know treatment. If anything, i would isolate the affected fish if possible, otherwise, some other users should be able to help you

Hi Sharkin
I copied and pasted the info below for you.

Symptoms: Visible worms, flukes or lice on the body.
Treatment: Pick the visible parasites from the fish. Follow with commercially available treatment such as Aquatronic's Diacide or CopperSafe by Mardel Laboratories.
Information: Parasitic infestation is perhaps the easiest to diagnose. The fish must be removed from the tank while the parasite is removed. Follow up treatment is essential to prevent fungal or bacterial growth.
