i just lost one black mollie (had pop eye) now the other in same tank is developing it...two platties seem fine. just did 50% water change due to high nitrates but was reading about over oxygenation issues causing pop eye? this sounds weird but too much oxygen be introduced into a 10 gal. tank simply with a airstone/bubbler being too large for tank? thanks for any help!

Pop eye is usually a symptom of something else going on. Poor water quality etc.
I've also read about too much oxygen, but a simple air stone shouldn't be a problem.

From my experiences, too much of fine mist can also cause Popeye. Make sure buubles are coarse. It can also caused by exposed to poor water conditions.
Remember pathogens are always present in the tank waiting for fish weakened by poor water consition and/or stressed caused by bullied.
If needed, medicate in small QT with simple coarse aeration..
What i done as QT is use the filter Box of Superking Filter hung inside the tank with new water and small aeration. Proportion the amount of med for the amount of water in the box. This way you dont need heater.
