Weird question: Can fish be insomniacs?

Every morning I see Garth asleep, and Pistachio swimming around like he does in the day. I know it might just be that he sleeps earlier than Garth does. I was just wondering if it's possible for fish to have insomnia. Crazy question, I know.

Maybe he just wakes up before Garth to get the best snails first. lol

Haha

I just wonder what Stachi's problem is, he's smaller than Garth and never looks quite as healthy, although he still looks good, white belly and all.

Stress maybe? I don't know about puffers but is it possible he feels threatened?

Hm... maybe. Stachi seems to be the dominant one usually, but maybe he doesn't feel secure in that...

I swear Zeus hasn't slept since I put him in the 5g Hex in the dinning area. He is so nosey watching us and the 4 cats. I'll turn the light off and go to bed. Come out a bit later for one reason or another, there is Zeus at the end of the tank closest to the kitchen. lol Maybe it b/c he is unsettle in his new surroundings.

Yeah! It's kinda tough for me to see if my pleco is asleep or not. But I'm sure all fishes will get their rest. IMO, as long as they eat well and tank parameters are fine, those fishes will be good.
