I have an injured cichlid. I believe the source of the injury is from the log. The one side has completely healed. The other side has a penny size whole that does not seem to be healing. He's a huge fish... Does anyone have any recommendations to help his injury heal?

Can you post a pic of the injured and healed side?
What kind of cichlid? that is important to know since there are so many with different vulnerabilities.
Is the injure in the head (as in Hole In The Head?) or bruised?
What are your water parameters?
what's your usual maintenance?
what other fish you keep with him/her?
What filter(s) you have? Do you use activated charcoal regularly?
What meds have you used or have at hand?
What tank size?

The more info you give us the better.

In general with wounds like these you want to use an antibacterial medication and possibly an antifungal along with it to prevent it from getting infected.... also using VitaChem, Garlic Guard, and a good stress coat supplement will help it to heal faster
