Help My Fish has got Acne!

Hi guys I'm pretty sure I'll be posting n here quite a lot to pick everyones brains as I work in the aquatic retail but always try and give the best advise to my customers so need to know my stuff first!

Anyway my boss has a problem I've not come across before. She has a pretty mature coldwater setup. She hasn't added any fish for at least 6 months now and all water test are in the clear however one of her fish appears to have some sort of spotting on it. She has some small Orandas (3 if I remember right?) some Danios and a Weather Loach. It is this loach that is displaying this 'acne' she says that it hasn't been feeding too well and is resting for long periods on the bottom and has recently taken to lying infont of the main front panel of the tank. She has said that usually it prefer to hide amongst the decor and only really emerges after lights out. She also says that none of the spots seem to have broken the surface or shown any signs of being or of have been bloody.

Any ideas on what the problem is would be great and any possible treatments?

Sorry, all I could find is that www.loaches.com lists that as a sign to lookout for and to not purchase fish with that bump under the skin problem.

Perhaps some of our loach folks (such as Butterfly) will know more.

Hi Howler welcome to to Fish Lore.

A couple of questions so others can help you:

What size tank?
What temperature is the water?
Is it cycled?
What are the readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrates?
What is your boss using to test the water?

Does the acne look like salt? Any way you could post a pic?

Sorry for all the question

Hopefully someone will be able to help.

Good luck
