Something is very wrong with my Pleco

So we get home from the Ranger's game last night and I notice that my BN is hanging out on the glass ABOVE the cucumber slice that I had placed in there earlier in the evening. It was late, I was tired, I didn't think too much about it at the time.

When I turned on the lights this morning, he was in almost the exact same place and he had not eaten hardly any of the cucumber. I reached in a pulled the veggie clip off the wall and he scrambled away, but not under his driftwood like he normally does, instead he attached himself to the front glass. That is when I noticed a "sore" on his belly that is red in the middle and looked almost yellow around it. I got to looking at him closer and he also has a yellow fuzzy spot on his head, and he seems pale to me.

I went in to mini panic mode, but I was about to dash out the door to go to work. I didn't have time to do water tests or anything, but I did put some minced garlic/juice in the tank. It is a well established tank and I never have ammonia or nitrite readings, I don't think I have ever seen my nitrate above 20. My last water change was about 30% a week ago from tonight.

Any thoughts? My first thought was fungus, but I really don't know. Unfortunately I am not at home to take pictures or anything. I can go to PetSmart at lunch to pick up meds, but I need help deciding what to do...

Thanks!

Okay, so I went at lunch and bought the Jungle Labs tablets - Fungus Clear (maybe.) My plan for tonight is to do a pretty big water change and start the fungus medication. I will also keep adding garlic daily, because it sure cant' hurt anything.

Any input is welcome. I can still stop at PetSmart again tonight if I need too...

Well, I lost him and of course I am not happy about it. He really was my favorite fish... When I got home he was in a corner of the tank that I have never seen him in before and he had almost no color on his head... We have been pretty busy the last week and maybe if I had paid more attention to him I could have caught it soon enough to do something about it.

Going to do a big water change tonight and keep a good eye on my tank readings. I am sure that I will replace him in a couple of weeks.

I'm sorry that you lost him, I'm not sure but I think he may have developed ulcers.

THAT doesn't sound good! Any idea how that happens/what can prevent it?

We've only had that pop up in livebearers. Ulcers just seem to develop at random and just keeping the tank in good condition and clean is the best way to prevent them.

Thanks! I will just keep staying on top of the water changes. Everyone else in the tank seems to be fine...
