My betta boys are starting to look better already. I really hope this med is working like it seems. I got some triple sulfa to add to the tanks in case some have bacterial issues. Prince and Felix have fin rot, the TS will help with that.

Thank you...I love all of my pets and treat them all the same from cats to our chameleon to our fish.
We are going into the fish breeding business on full scale in a few years so I want to learn to treat illness properly so I can be prepared then.
We are not having kids so my pets are my kids lol.

Yeah still eating the medicated fod. I lost another betta this morning tho. These worms seem to fatal for betta...I hopefully I can save my last 2...but one lil' guy looks bad.

Pretty much anything I get obsesses with. lol

Luis the keyhole is looking really bad. His face is swollen, eyes bugged out and dark. He has been like this for days. I had to put him in a 5g sick tank alone. Maria his woman has been picking on him the past week. He is too weak to fight back.
On a lighter not, all remaining fish are better or were never sick to begin with.
Angelfish pair locking lips and bickering, normal to me.
None of our plecos or Ottos seem affected. I wonder if it's b/c they eat wood and algae, plus a bit of shrimp pellets once in awhile. The c.worms seem to like hosts who have high protein diets like betta. Who eat all meat except peas once a week.
Malawi cichlids eat a mix of spirulina and meat flakes, they seem untouched too.
I hope Sunny my very last betta boy thrives for as long as possible.
Maybe once Luis passes or improves this will be the end of this horrible fatal parasite.

Week 2 of medicated food:
Everyone is still eating the food...tho Sunny Mr. Betta looks a me odd every time I give it to him. Like this isn't the good stuff is it?
Betta/Angelfish/Keyholes: Smokey my male looks fine, but the Betta still has red thread hanging out his anus. Ziggy, my female seem unaffected, same with the female keyhole.
Our 4 fancy plecos, 5 bn plecos and ottos still show no signs of having c.worms
All 9 Malawi cichlids are unaffected and should be...I didn't have my hands in their tank like the others.

I have hope for all but the male keyhole at this point. Time will only tell.

Sunny hasn't been eating the medicated food today and I am not sure about yesterday either. But he seem fine the worms are still hanging but not as many.
Mr. Keyhole was in a 5g alone for a bit. His gf kept harrassing him....so I let him rest for a few days there. Today he seemed stronger and I put him in the 20g with all the others again. He was flirting with his gf (so cute). But he is still darker than I'd like him to be.

I am getting frustrated about Sunny. He STILL has worms out is butt.
He looks fine a few small tears but he not getting rid of the worms. I don't think he ate the medicated food yesterday.

The male keyhole is looking better today his keyhole pattern is starting to show. He does seem to rest a lot. I dunno what up with him.
The brighter side is both angelfish are fine, so are the bristle nose pair and clown pleco.

Well Mr. Keyhole, Luis is dying finally after all this time of suffering. Poor fella I haven't seen him poop in forever. I have him in a breeder trap in the 20g. Maria his girlfriend has been bullying him.

Sorry to hear about Luis. Man when are they gonna come out of this. Hopefully very shortly.

I lost him this afternoon.
Sunny the betta is getting holes in his fins but still perky.
I think I found the right treatment but too late for most of the fish in direct contact.

At this point it is week 3 of the medicated food treatment...the betta is the only one showing worms. He did eat some food today I crushed it into a crumble and put one of his reg pellets with it. Hopefully this he will get rid of the worms for good. His fins are NOT getting any worse nor his he bloated. He has been having some funky looking poops tho. Latest pix.

Well there are no betta boys left the c. worms got them all. All fish that were infected are fine or dead. Unfortunately there are more dead than alive. SO please, please take a lesson from my mistakes. A quarantine tank is a must. Always disinfect anything when moving it from one tank to another. Always disinfect tank, gravel and anything in tank in between sickness. You never know what can actually survive in a drop of water.

Well Maria showed signs of worms a week ago and died over night. Found her this morning at the bottom of the tank.
They won't eat the medicated food so my angelfish are doomed. I thought the worms were gone but last week the keyhole and male angelfish had them sticking out AGAIN!!
With out Levimisol this parasite is fatal, it's been six months and I still have fish dropping dead. There is no guarantees that any fish will eat any medicated food so meds in the water is what is needed.
*Why didn't I quarantine those keyholes in February? UGGG!!*
