How old is the tank? whats its size? what are the water perimeters? are there other fish with him?

it happened to my others also.
they are feeders, and almost full grown.
water temp. around 75 degrees f.
dont have test kit right now.

flipfool started another thread on this and in that thread he/she said they started out brown and now turning orange...and that they are baby feeder fish..so thats normal...alot of goldie feeders are brown as young and turn their orange as they grow...too many threads on the same subject make me have a brunette moment! (not that I need help with that LOL )
