I received my tank from a freind about 1 1/2 months ago - he had for 5 years and all was well. Some of the fish died from the move, but the tank was stable. Later added a few fish and the same day my pleco showed these spots. Two days later he's dead. I did a lot a looking and couldn't find anything about this.

Basically I'm looking for advice as to the disease or problem so I know what to do in the future. Has anyone see these spots on a pleco before?

I think your Pleco had the Common Bacterial Infection,

symptoms: Blood spots; open sores; ulcers,frayed fins
Cause: Aeromonas
Treatment: Antibiotics

Antibiotics are availlable at your pet store.
