My male blue hap has had issues, which I thought were parasites. He just doesn't float right. He hasn't acted right since I got him back in November.
This morning I was separating the blue haps from the fry we are selling to the
LFS. Some were much smaller and were breathing oddly. The were swimming funny like their father did when he was sick. Their gill plates were/are red too. Then 5 died really quick, there are 3 that are acting like those ones. Now there are bigger fry who are healthy as heck. Swimming normal.
I believe that the father has bad genes and has passed them down to the fry. Has anyone ever had this problem with any species of fish?
Which gives us one less breeding pair. I am mad b/c he doesn't look well one of the
mbuna male beat him up over night.
I am so frustrated with all of my cichlids right now.
