Hi tko187, I answered in your other thread, but that's ok, it's better off here.
Do the spots look like salt or is it fuzzy?
Can you post a pic?

It sounds like ick, usually brought on from stress and water conditions.
You did the right thing turning your temp up...83, I think is what's recommended. Keep it up for 2 weeks at the least.
I'm pretty sure the temp won't bother your fish. The main concern would be lack of oxygen, bit since your doing daily water changes it shouldn't be an issue.
Hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong.

I just read about it though...
adding salt and raising temperature does help. Rid-ICH is also a good product to use according to this article http://www.fishlore.com/Articles/CuringIch.htm... and also add an airstone or powerhead to be on the safe side, since the temperature is higher there will be less oxygen content in the tank, like lucy said.

The treatment for Ick will work well with your efforts to cycle the tank. You'll want to change 25-40% of the water daily and keep the tank temperature at 28-29C for 2 weeks. Treat all water with Prime, if available.

Also adding a product called Ich-Attack could help them feel better, but won't change the warm water treatment and is really an optional addition. No meds are needed to clear ick.

Clean the substrate at least once a week and add extra aeration to the tank to compensate for the lower oxygen levels from increasing the water temperature. This should help the fish and I believe all of them can tolerate the 2 weeks.

I'd also recommend a separate tank for your Betta, they don't usually make good community fish. How big is this tank? The list of fish would have me thinking about 120 US gallons.
