i wasn't sure if to post here or the betta forum. one of my betta's recently died due to ick. how do i treat the bowl it was in. and do you do the same for glass and acrylic tanks. right now it's soaking in aquari-sol for the past 2 days im scared to use it but i need some where to put my new little guy till the ten gallon cycles.

Just raise the temp to 83 or so for a week or so. The high temps kills the ick

You'd want to sterilize it, clean it out with hot water and vinegar. Dry it well and rinse with hot water, dry it again and use extra water conditioner when filling it up.

I would recommend putting your new guy in the 10g tank and doing daily water changes with all water being treated with Prime. Either way he'll be in cycling water, but with a heated and filtered tank, the Prime and the water changes he'll be much better off in the 10g. He'll be happier and the 78-80F water will make it much less likely for him to catch Ich.
