Swim bladder disease

I suspect that one of my tetras has swim bladder disease. He has trouble swimming downwards and seems like he is constantly swimming against the tide.

Anyway, I feel badly for the little dude (or dudette, I have no idea). I have read about two treatments. One is fasting the fish for a few days and if that doesn't work, feeding peas (I swear I read that here:

http://www.fishfriend.com/articles/t...r_disease.html )

Anyway, I have no hospital tank. The only way for me to isolate the fish is to put him in a net breeder. Should I do this or will it stress him out too much?

How is he doing now? I'd put him in the net breeder with a plant or 2 maybe to help him feel more 'safe' in it.

He got better sort of overnight and now today it seems worse than ever. I will try the net breeder. :-(

Is your tetra eating? A small plant in the net breeder may be good for giving a more secure feel to the breeding net.

What, if anything, has been added to the water lately?

He is eating normally. The next morning he was fine again. The bulge in his belly was gone and he was swimming fine. Whatever was there, he must have been able to pass. Weird. My tetra has irritable bowel syndrome!
