My poor betta's eyes

Yesterday I noticed Faye's eyes had some color to them. They've always been black and I fear there might be something wrong.

I try to keep the tank as clean as I can but my algae is a little out of control. I'm very tempted to move some of my otos over but 1) I'm afraid it'll stress the poor guys out too much 2) my girls wont let them do their job but until I can figure something out I just wipe what I can during the water changes (I place the girls in their cups to let the filter pick up the loose particals so they arn't just floating around).

Today I also noticed Winry's eyes look like they are about to turn out how Faye's are now.I couldn't get any clear shots of her.

The two still come right to the front when I'm there but I've noticed its taking them a little longer to take their food off my finger Please tell me there is something I can do to help my little baby girls.

Awwwww, poor things. I'm not knowledgeable in fish diseases, but it could be pop eye. Read this, and see what you think:

Good luck, I hope they feel better soon.

I think that might be it Lucy. The water tests fine, I check it every 1-2 weeks with my liquid API test kit and just retested today. My girls are still the same, I've switched out a few more of their pellets for bloodworms to keep them eating.

I'm wondering if the little snails I found the other week died when the tank got unplugged, I haven't seen them in awhile and always check the tank before I go to bed (learn a lot about a betta by watching them sleep heh). I haven't found anything when I cleaned the vacuum but if thats the case, it would of showed up when I tested?

Hopefully a 20% daily water change will help. I need to switch the tank out with another 10g (lid fits better on the other one) sooner or later anyways - maybe it'll be better if I just get that tank's cycle going, transfer them and see if it helps any?

It's probably eye cloud or pop eye. With Betta you have to clean their tanks every 3 days. They are sensitive to a lot things unfortunately.

I'm afraid I've only been doing a quick vacuum once a week. And a quick water chance every few days. I know I've been slacking a bit, overly confidant that I've found a cleaning method that works for me and unfortunitly I seem to have harmed my poor bettas in the process.

I'm going to be setting up the other tank tonight. A nice clean setting should help me determine the exact cause. Go9ng to place the plants in the 75g for the time being, I need to find some way to fight all that algae before it gets out of hand again. Its porbably not the case but I keep thinking its got to have something to do with it.

Thanks everyone. Good news is, Faye is swimming all over again. She still is a little slow with getting to the food but she's not sulking around her tower anymore (a little sad, I love when she cuddles up in it - so cute). Winry is about the same.

I've been doing daily water changes and have using more of the garlic guard than I usually do and Faye seems to be improving. Her eyes still look the same but she's as feisty as ever and doesn't seem to be having any sight problems anymore. Hopefully it will just get better.
