Question about guppy problem

My mil is actually doing good w/ her guppies, I have been doing water quality checks and she has been vaccuming her tank out w/ a siphon that I gave her and doing water changes regularly.
Well two of her female guppies look like someone bent them in two, what causes that?
I gave her some freeze dried blood worms to give them every other day along w/ their reg flakes to they are getting protein in their diet.

My molly looked like that for a while, and i didn't know what caused it.
(This is probably no help, but just a story)

The reason he looked like that.. was because he just stuck to the side of my filter.
He never really went back to normal.

Sorry i can't be much help.

Do the guppies have sunken stomachs? Are they eating? If you can get a pic of them, please post it. It MIGHT be fish tb, although many other things can cause this.

Sadly, it's a fatal fish disease that's possible to transmit to humans through open cuts. It usually includes a bent spine, sunken belly, loss of color and other symptoms can be part of it too.

I don't think fish with fish tb can be bloated though.

It is more than likely spine degeneration with older fish than it is TB.

I only know of a handful of actual documentated fish TB cases in the US.

Nothing can be done to return the fish to it's previous condition.

Thanks, I didn't think these guppies had tb, after reading about it. They are females, older and they are more "fat" than looking pregnant. I told my mil that she would prob loose them pretty soon, I lost about 3 or 4 of mine that way and it seemed like it was the ones that I had had for a long long time and were and isolated event that didn't spread in the tank I never really questioned it at the the time because I had so many guppies breeding.

I will wait until hers pass and get her some new ones.... shes wanting to size up in tanks anyways so I will prob get her some really nice guppies.

And about the danio w/ the live food.... the guppies the when breeding and dropping fry, and after (wait thats all the time lol) anyways I think they need protein in their diet... I got some freeze dried shrimp and bloodworms for my mil to feed them along w/ their flakes... I even told her to come over and steal some frozen bloodworms every once and a while for them.
