Question about my Molly

My mollys seem to have lighter patches on them.
Not exactly white, but lighter.

They don't look fuzzy like a fungus.
And arn't extremley noticeable.

None of the other fish have it, just the two mollys.
Oh, and one of them like to rub against my sunken **** ornament and the rock.

Help?

Hi TaraDawn...
IMO whenever a fish looks different from its norm, its always a concern. Even if it ends up being nothing but a pattern change.
Its possible that your two mollies are coming down with a parasitic disease. It could be early fungus. I would watch them really carefully, do a good water change and possibly add in some API stress coat with aloe vera and skin protector. It may help if its a minor problem. If it looks like it is truly turning into a body fungus, then I would remove them to a QT quickly and treat them with a parasite cure. Good luck with them.. I hope they will be ok.

I know this may sound stupid...
but what does "IMO" mean?

IMO = "in my opinion"
That's not stupid, you didn't know and you asked, that was smart.

It sounds almost like ICK symptoms to me, the rubbing against things anyways. The lighter colored areas, are they small, like spots/dots? Google ICK symptoms and see if that sounds right...

No, it's not like ich.
Ich looks like small dots all over the place, doesn't it?
these are patchces.

You're right, Ich are small white spots. If it's patches, what I think is fungus or perhaps a wound. A picture would help us help you.

I cant seem to get a picture of him.
he's so dark, he just comes out as a blob.
and the patches are only noticable up close.
I cant get them in a picture. >=@

Well, it's quite difficult to determine what your fish is having in this way. But I would rule out the possibility of Ich outbreak. Since you mention it's patches. Perhaps you can go get some API Melafix to speed up it's recovery. Or perhaps the API Stress Coat to protect the fish's skin. And remember to keep up with water changes to maintain a healthy environment for your Molly.

Keep us updated.

He's doing a little better today,
the patches only seem to be on one side now, as apposed to both sides.
I have him in a QT tank, and i'm medicating with Pimafix.
(It seems to be working well)
and I treat the water with API stress coat whenever i do water changes.

Can you get Molly Brite there? Although if your current treatment is having positive effects, I would just continue that for now.

Glad your molly is doing fine. Don't worry about it, your molly will be well in no time with your care.

I've never heard of Molly Brite before, but yes, the Pimafix seems to be helping him.

Thanks for all your advice guys, i appreciate it.
