Salt for sick Platy

Please don't kill me, I actually did use the search funtion and read a bunch of threads about salt in freshwater tanks. But I didn't really see the answer to my question, so I'm posting another add salt to freshwater tank question.

I have 3 platies in a 10 gal tank. One appears to have ICH. I started meds today, raise temp, and was considering adding some salt. The salesperson at the store told me they make brackish water with non-ionized table salt. That didn't sound right to me, I thought I needed aquarium salt, but just let it slide cause worst case senario, I just go with the increased temp and meds.

Should I add a lil non-ionized salt? Or just go with the temp/meds?

Thanks for your time and input.

PS I don't want to keep a brackish tank, just get them through this sick period.

I would never use table salt of any kind in a tank. Certain diseases call for treatment with epsom salt or marine salt or aquarium salt, but definitely not ich. All that you need for treating ich is to raise the water temp and keep it there 2 weeks with 25% water changes every day or 2 and cleaning the substrate weekly at least.

Check the meds, be sure malachite green or victoria green aren't in the ingredients. The only thing I'd add is an organic herbal treatment called Ich-Attack that's even safe for fry and inverts.. and that's not even necessary, I just like to add it for the comfort of the fish.
