Something Wrong With My Molly

After losing my platy yesterday, I dont want to lose my molly too.

He seems to be swimming unevenly, with his tail end hanging lower than his front.

He's still eating and swimming with my other molly, but like i said he's swimming wih one end lower than the other.

help?

Hi TaraDawn,
I'm sorry you lost your platy and your mollie is not feeling well.

I'm really no help, but I'll ask the usual questions, someone with more expeirence should be a long shortly.

What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings?
How often are you changing the water?
Is it a new fish? Does he show any other signs of illness?

Sorry, I can't be of more help.
Good luck.

How old is he? Swimming like that can be a sign of old age.

I came home to find Jersey ( the Molly) not swimming like that anymore.

He was swimming up straight and playing with my other Molly, Rocko.

He did have a huge poop though, could he have been constipated?

I'm not sure, but I suppose it's possible. As long as he's swimming ok now, I'd just watch him and maybe put a little more moisture into his food, such as feeding them bits of thawed, frozen peas or green beans.

Is that okay?

I put a fresh slice in every day or 2. Well, I peel the slice, 10 seconds in the microwave, then into the veggie clip and back in the corner with the driftwood.

Just an update--
My molly has NEVER swam like that since.

It was just that one day.
So i'm happy about that.
