I was wondering a few of my Zebra Danios are rather fat around the belly region and I was wondering if this could possibly be dropsy. Their behavior is completely normal, they swim fine and are eating very healthily so I have to wonder if they could just be slightly on the fat side and need less food, or that they might have eggs in them that they won't or can't lay. Other than the large belly regions they seem fine, what are some of the other symptoms of dropsy? I know my tank is overstocked but I think its finally cycled and I've been dilligent on the water changes, doing them every day for the most part to keep their water in good ranges.

It doesn't sound like dropsy. They'll usually be lethargic and have the scales on the side sticking out.

over fed, internal bacteria problem maybe or possibly constipated i've heard peas or daphinia cure constipation...you'd know if they have dropsy they become grotesque cant miss it bloated torso's, sticking out scales, bulging eyes not nice...then they die.
