question!!!

hi everyone!
i was reading in another thread that if fishs' poop is like a tring it might be bad for them?
i have a tiger barb that was doing that the other day. also it was just hanging from him while swiming for the longest time but i thought that was normal. (by the way is the one i thought was pregnant)
any information about this would be appreciated.

thanks ver much.

sounds like potentially a parasite problem... they tend to get bloated and have white stringy poo, among other things. i'd check into it further, if it were me.

It could be diet, but most likely is internal parasites. Usually Parasite Clear tablets will get rid of them.

hi,
thanks for your help. should i just put the medicine in the tank and that's it? oh and i have been keeping an eye on him and he's not bloated anymore and no more of the stringy poo. should i still give him medicine? also will the other fish catch it?

Hmm.. if his poo is back to normal, it could've just been what he ate. Sometimes they'll do a lot of nibbling on the really tiny algae, etc on decor and get poo like that. I'd not add meds if he's back to normal.

Parasite clear tabs would just be dropped into the tank and I'd treat the whole tank if parasites showed up.

ok. well i guess he's fine because it's been about 4 days since he was doing that and it never happened again.
thanks for all the advice!
