Fish Tablet Medication

Hi,

Some fish medication comes in a tablet form.
Instructions says to dissolve in water.
I note that the medicine doesn't dissolve completely.
I stir incessantly but issue persist.

Does anyone experience this?

Yes, have you tried warmer water? It still doesn't completely dissolve, but it helps some!

Hi zeebo,
Most of the tablets have what is known as a filler, If you get 2 spoons, put the tablet in one and put the other spoon on top you can crush and grind the tablet between the spoons. Mix with water and what does not dissolve will normaly be the filler as the med will dissolve in water

Hi kra-z-fishmumm & Peterpiper,

kra-z-fishmumm, I did think of using warm water but that would have chlorine in it unless I boil some aquarium water in the microwave.

Peterpiper, oh filler! Thanks for making it clear to me. Otherwise I would keep stirring.

Is this problem with a larger tank? On larger tanks especially, it's good to dissolve the meds in a cup of clean treated water, then pour that into the tank.

Hi COBettaCouple,

Its Tetracycline Tablet.
Size is slightly bigger than a Panadol tablet.

I see. I've never seen tetracycline in a tablet before, I always find it as a powder.
