Fungus
Hello,
I just noticed yesterday that one of my guppies has fungus (white cotton looking stuff) on one side of his body.
I was just wondering if it would be safe to treat the whole tank with babies in it.
And would API fungus cure be a good product to use.
Thank you,
Heidi

If you can get it, I recommend Rid-Fungus for him. It would be safe for the fry. The Fungus Cure.. I'd move the fry out of the tank.

One more thing!
Would it be ok to leave the albino pleco in the tank?

With the Rid-Fungus, I would feel safe leaving him in. Otherwise I'd want to move him to another tank.

Oh, I'm glad you're online. You gave me great advice w/rid fungus. Husband is still out of town. Can't catch Discus. This fish is the one w/bacterial/fungus on the pectoral fin.
What can I do? It's a planted, community tank. Been doing water changes...that's all I can do. I'm disabled. LFS guy was supposed to help me...he's a flake!
This is a question for COBettaCouple.

You might get a better reply if you put this on a new post.

Thanks Heidi! I know, as soon as I saw this I knew I should have done that. I'm so freaked out w/my Discus sick. Husband's 144 gal planted tank. He's out of town..can't catch Discus to place in hospital tank. I know it is never good to treat an entire community tank, but what do I do? LFS guy was supposed to come here to help..Flaked out.

I ended up treating the entire tank, due to the fact that my hospital tank is in use right now. So I got rid-fungus, hope it helps the sick fish soon.

No not yet, he is not doing well
He is still not eating, just stays on the bottom of the tank.
How long do you think it would take until I see some change?
Thanks for all your help COBettaCouple

Honestly, I've always seen results after this amount of time and might consider columnaris, as mentioned in the other thread.. would you be able to post a picture? It's 50/50 on either needing stronger fungus medicine or an antibiotic.

I will get a picture tomorrow morning, the lights are out in the tank now, and I don't like to disturb the fish at night.

I just replied to your other thread, then read this one. I'm really sorry that you lost him. Columnaris can be a tough one because it looks so much like a fungus and usually gets treated as a fungus. You did your best for him, though.
