Lethargic Clown Loach

So I have 2 Clowns and the when I first brought the 2nd one home he was very active until it started showing signs of Ick (white spots)I began treatment as directed for Loach's. Now it is very lethargic swims around from time to time and eats some what but for the most part lethargic. My other Clown has not shown signs and is very active and eats. What could be going on with the lethargic one with the treatment will it get better? If any one could give some it advise it would be really appreciated!!!

We had a spotted catfish with ICH, luckily he didn't infect the rest of the tank. We tried treating him and raising the tank temp.. unfortunately we didn't catch it in time and he passed.

If you have a small 2 gal tank or so, please separate him and treat hiim individually.

Well the white spots that it did have have dramatically faded away but it just "chills" now (excuse the slang).

Master Of Fish Poo!

Welcome to Fishlore.

Have you noticed if his poop is clear/white? He could have parasites if so.

The medication I am using is Maracide for : Ick, Velvet/Protozoan Diseases, Chilo-doella, Trichodia, and other external parasites...its straight from the bottle.

Loaches are very sensitive to medications even those recommended for loaches. The easiest and safest way to cure a loach of ICH is to raise the water temp to 82-84F, leave it for 14 days and do more frequent water changes(50% about every third day) for those 14 days.
He should like that any way as loaches like water changes and warm temps

So no changes yet to its behavior but now Ive noticed rapid gill movement on both of em, none of the other fish in my tank are doing this. Im gonna lower the temp to hopefully get the levels of O2 to rise.

Your temps need to stay over 82F to cure the ICH. Clowns like temps 78-83F anyway. Are you doing the extra water changes? That will help the O2 levels also.
Here is some interesting pictures and information about Clown Loaches.

Yes Im doing frequent water changes about 25% or more but still nothing, I lost one loach and kinda fearful I may lose the other one. Ive stopped the treatment accordingly and there has not been any other signs of ich. I have also used carbon to remove the remaining med but at this point I dont even know what to do to possibly save the other (remaining) clown...

So my clown is recovering nicely, has an appetite back and gill pumping slowing down Im gonna keep doing water changes and give it a few weeks before getting 1-2 more clowns for it? (male, female?)
