Dead Blue German Ram

This morning, I came to find my blue German Ram dead. He has been living an active and healthy life in my 30 gallon tank, and his death was sudden, and he showed no indications of illness until I examined his body. One his left side right by his gills there was an orange bump the size of a pin head. The only fish I have with him, an angel is doing fine. Was this bump a disease, and is my angel fish at risk?

Not 100% sure but when we have a sudden death we usually do a 25% water change just in case.

It could have been an ulcer or tumor but it's hard to be sure. We're sorry that you lost him. I'd test the water and do the water change like Allie recommended.
