sorry if this in wrong section. Two weeks ago i found my make guppy lying on the floor of my community tank barely alive and with almost no tail left. I immediately moved him to my hospital tank. He still alive eating well and no sign of disease or infection. Can i move him back to my big tank yet? J

wait for his tail to grow almost all the way back or he'll have no chance of survival. if u can add Vita Chem (fish vitamins) to speed up the process with healthy vitamins.. if he's as healthy as u say he is, it should only take about 2 weeks for most of the tail to be completely back

Gosh, I don't know if I would put the guppy back in the tank. Your list of the fish in the tank, IMO is suspicious of the guppy being attacked by the bigger fish. I'm thinking Gouramis are likely suspects...

He'll definitely need to be isolated (or kept with just guppies if he shows signs of loneliness) until his tail grows back. I don't believe Vitachem is available there, but I think there is a liquid vitamin there that's good with a name something like Sera-

Thanks for the advice. There is obvious signs of tail re-growth already. I will buy some liquid vitamins today. I have already Interpet General Tonic is this anything similar to what I need? I suspect my Buenos Aires Tetras as they got a little over excited when first joining the tank?! It was around the same time. But they are angels now and get bossed around by my Platys. Thanks again everyone. J

I'd check the ingredients on the Interpet General Tonic. If there is anything in it that's medicine it's not what you'd be looking for but for a product that's all vitamins and minerals, like a multi-vitamin that you'd buy at the store for yourself.

I put some liquid vitamins in today and then went out for the day. When I returned Sunrise was dead. He was my sole surviving guppy and Im very sad. It end of an era. Anyone got any ideas why he has been fine for 2 weeks but died the day I put vitamins in there? RIP Sunrise you gave me hours me joy.

Oh, Bummer....Sorry for the loss of your Sunrise. You tried to get him better, sometimes it's just gonna happen no matter what...
