Hello,
I have a Chinese HighFin Shark/Sucker that has developed a white milky like stain on it’s dorsal fin and side. I need help diagnosing what this might be and how to treat it. Is this something that can spread? Should I take him out of the main tank?

You should be aware that I’m currently treating the tank for Ich which is my first encounter with the disease after having my tank for nearly a year. I am on the second day of treating it with Ich Attach. Until now I’ve been very lucky with my tank, but a recent binge of new additions may have brought this on. Can I expect many losses?

What are the last ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings that you took before starting the Ich Attack?

What do you use for water conditioner? It the milky area fuzzy or slick? My first thought is a fungus, which Ich-Attack can help with.

Hey, thanks for the prompt reply. Don't really know those details, but I can at least tell you the I've never had an amonia problems (very low) due to the water changes and bio/chem filtration that I have. I'm on the east coast and it is late and I need to get to bed. I'll do some testing tomorrow and try to post. I've got some really nice fish and I hate that this is happening.
