Asking for advise

My son's glow light tetra seems to have the wasting disease, but I'm not sure. We're new to keeping a fish tank although we've had his tank for a year now. The little fish's gills seem to have grown so big (or his body has become emaciated) that he doesn't seem to be able to take in food of any kind. We've had him for about 11 months and this has happened over the past 2 months. His mouth appears to be deformed (missing a bottom jaw) and I didn't know if anyone has any helpful info. on what we should do. Thanks so much for your help...we'd definitely love to be able to save him.

Welcome to Fishlore.

Was his mouth always like that? He may have gotten attacked and lost the bottom part and now has trouble eating.

You could add Vita-Chem (1 drop per gallon daily) to the tank to get him some nutrients and try crushed flakes or freeze-dried daphnia to see if he'd have any luck with those easier foods.
