lethargic orange cockatoo cichlid

Hi ,

My male orange cockatoo cichlid just lies around...he used to be more active , but now i often find him hiding in caves...he eats little and lately I have been making sure food is readily available in his cave.I have been feeding him frozen blood worms . He is in a tank with a female cockatoo and a couple german blue ram cichlids and a couple german golden rams as well...the male rams seem to be somewhat aggressive...the ph is 7 ...I keep the tank at 80 degrees ammonia levels are below 10 all the time...the water is hard...I know they prefer softer water...I have had this guy for 3 months and until now all was well

welcome to FishLore. I hope we can help with your cockatoo. Dino's questions are what I'd ask too along with: Are you using liquid tests? The strips tend to be less than reliable and may give you false readings on the ammonia levels.
