Fish swimming Vertically

I had three Danios and three guppies in 10 gallon tank. One of the Danios died this morning, it might be this one fish thats nipping, which killed it and now its nipping the other danio, but seems ok with the guppies. THere is this one guppy which is swimming vertically and staying on top of the water, sometimes it stops swimming and then goes down the tank and sometimes it seems like its dead and then starts swimming very fast. If someone can tell me right away whats wrong, i ll really appreciate it. Tank is almost cycled. I change 25% water almost everyday. When i tested amonia today it seemed like its increasing. I dont know why. Anyways please help me out.

the symptoms do sound like ammonia poisoning. i'd recommend treating with amquel+ after a 50% water change. are the gills red?

that makes it pretty certain to be ammonia poisioning, with the ammonia rising.. the danio dying might have triggered a spike. any live plants? when was the last gravel cleaning? anyway, the only treatment for ammonia poisoning is a water changes.. the amquel+ will help by de-toxifying the ammonia but you'll want to eliminate this new source of ammonia.

EDIT: Prime would be even better than amquel+ if you have it.

Re: Fish swimming Vertically

It's not 100% necessary to use amquel+ or prime. the water changes will help, but the amquel+ or prime would provide more immediate relief to the fish. I'd do 50% changes daily until the ammonia is eliminated or the fish gets better if you don't use the treatment. If you're treating with amquel+ or prime after each change, i'd stick to 25-33% daily.

i have a molly swimming vertically. it seems to hide away a lot as well. its gills also look swollen compared to the other molly i have. every other fish in the tank seem fine.
