| Re: Nematodes? How to treat? Whitish, semitransparent, or stringy faeces is most commonly a sign of disease. It appears as if this is the problem here. It would be the most effective to remove the sick fish and treat them in a smaller tank as it saves on the medication. Are there any other symptoms present? I would definitely put them in a quarantine tank for now and please let us know of any other symptoms. Lack of appetite or not swimming about as much, settling on the bottom, fins clamped, darting about wildly, coughing, yawning, anything that fish do not normally do.
