My catfish is doing odd things, floating sometimes and then suddenly swimming normally, rooting around the substrate. Other times I've found him acting like an upside down catfish. What is wrong with him, and what can I do about it?

Watch him and as long as he continues to eat and swim normally some of the time, I do not think it is a total problem. Otherwise it sounds like maybe a swimbladder problem possibly but it isn't a bad one or he couldn't right himself.

Just an opinion. Maybe someone else can give you another.

i started out with 2 red tails, and one of them started doing that exact same thing, swimming, eating, and then nothing, just laying on the bottom up against the cave, work up the next morning, found him dead on one of the leaves of my fake plants
