I just lost a gourami, he was excreting long, stringy white things. I am using coppersafe now as I feel it is a parasite infestation. Just noticed after treating the tank that one of my tetras are excreting white things too! Will the meds cause the parasites to leave the bodies of the fish?

I just lost a gourami, he had a very long stringy white thing hanging from him. I have looked online and saw that coppersafe is good for treating what I believe is a parasite infestation. I treated the tank and have just noticed one of my white skirted tetras is now excreting the same thing. Will the medications cause the parasite to leave the fishes bodies?
