Hi everyone,

We recently lost a dwarf rainbow...one minute she was alive and then about twenty minutes later she was dead and floating. The strange thing is that she had two big black patches on her normally pale body. She had no other signs of sickness (like ick or velvet) and the other fish in that tank is fine. She had no appetite the night before though.

Does anyone have any idea what may have caused her to die and or turn black?

I think I've heard someone on this forum describe their sick fish similarly: having some dark patches. I think it may have been some disease, only no idea which one Though I am sure someone on the forum will know.

I had an opaline gourami that was bullied by another opaline gourmi 24/7. The whole side of his face turned black. Once I separated them, his face went back to normal in about a week. It could just be stress.
