Molly died
Male Molly Sick?
Here are some pics. Salty started doing the vertical stance late last night. He can swim straight, but mostly hides in the corners and chases anyone who comes near him off, I got him in a big net and fed him a pea, just in case he was constipated. I had a male do this a long time ago, I treated him for dropsy, but he didn't make it. Water parameters are within normal ranges, no one else is doing this or anything else funny. Thanks in advance.

He looks ok from the pics. Maybe he is getting picked on? Are your other mollies male or female? Is he eating?
I have 2 platys, a male and female, who began hiding alot recently and getting chased so I moved them into my 10 gallon and they are very happy now. They are like a couple and he never bugs her too much, its cute.

I don't think anyone is picking on him. the other mollies are female. one smallish male sword/2 f, but they don't pay attention to each other. a guppy, otos, cories and danios/9

He looks fine externally, so it might be internal.. perhaps parasites. Have you seen white/clear poop from him? Does he flash or anything?

No flashing. Just the vertical stance. No pooping that I can see. I gave him another pea tonight, didn't eat much. I don't want to loose him, this stinks. Like I said I had another molly do this and he didn't make it. It seems to happen to all my males. He looks good at times i.e. when I get the camera out lol. otherwise he sulks in a corner, snapping at whoever gets close to him. And that stupid vertical thing. ugh...........

No big change
I don't know what to do for the poor guy. I put him in a fry tank, still in the 55g. He won't eat anything. The other fish are kinda acting strange,,, real mellow like, even the danios, one fancy danio is even changing colors--gets real dark on top half of body, then goes back to normal. Are these poor babies ever gonna get a break? pH-8.0 (within good range for us), nitrate-.25, nitrite-0 and ammonia-0. Nothing extra floating around that I can see. It seems that my males just can't stay healthy. Could it be the place I'm getting them from? The famales are fine. Such a huge bummer.

Poor little guy.. i hate to see them sick. I'd try treating him with parasite clear tabs and if you can add vita-chem, garlic boost or fish protector, those might help him some.

He died
O.K., I seriously don't know how much more of this I can take. Salty died this afternoon. I was sitting there watching the tank, and he just laid down at the bottom of the fry tank... add to that a female guppy I got last week got stuck in some grass--, a cory that I got last summer, and Bud--my BN pleco, and an old swordtail,, all gone within a couple of weeks! I've done nothing abnormal, added a female molly so Sherbert wasn't always getting Salty's attention,,,But I was very careful with her,, kept her seperated for a week. Watched the guppy's for a few days, the male is fine--took the decorative grass out--it was a bother anyway. All those male molly's that got that bent back!!! ugh maybe for the sake of fish everywhere I better stop buying.

I'm so sorry for your losses.
Your water levels look good, it's odd you are losing so many fish.
A couple things you can check, Is your water temp ok?, Are you using charcoal in your filter? (it can go bad and release toxins)
If your other fish weren't quarantined long enough, they could have passed something to your other fish.
Good luck, I hope you figure it out.

Yes I do use charcoal, how long does it take for it to go bad? If I don't use the charcoal, what do I use?

I'm not sure, a couple of months maybe? I'm sure someone can answer this more thoroughly.
I use cartrides (only because I already bought 2 boxes) that comes with the charcoal inside, what i do is make a slit and empty out the charcoal before inserting it.
Also, if you medicated the tank with the carbon in, the carbon would have absorbed alot of the medication before it helped your fish.
You can buy the filter media and cut it down to size.

We're so sorry you lost Salty, I know how hard it is to watch them go. I wouldn't give up fish keeping, it's just been a bad string of luck although the carbon may have some role in things, i'm not sure there. Most carbon gives out in a week or 2 at the most, then it dumps everything it captured into the water.
