scales popped up on molly

My female balloon molly has this werid thing happening on her side. It is right behind the gills. Three of her scales look like they are coming off. One has a red a streak in it. She is a silve balloon molly. She eats, mates constantly, has had babies recently, seems fine. Is it a disease or did she hurt herself some how. None of my other fish have anything unusual on them - a balloon dalamtion molly, five neons and one frog. No nitrites or ammonia present. Nitrate between 0-20. Temperature between 78 and 80. I just noticed this on her yesterday.

Do you have a picture of her? It sounds like Hemorrhagic Septicemia or Parasites.

Here are some photos. Not sure if you can tell anything from them.

I can't see the red in those pics. She's eating, swimming and acting normal - you could watch her for any change and just keep the water nice & clean for now or start treating her for one of those conditions if you felt pretty sure she needed it. I'd probably watch her for now, but I can't see what you do, so you'll make the best call on what she needs right now.

I agree with Dave, other than the fact she is a very pregnant molly..lol..
I do not see anything wrong with her in those photos either. I really wouldnt start her on meds if you are not sure whats wrong with her, especially since you have fry in the tank. Id wait and see if the symptoms develop more. But as was stated.. you have a better view than we do.

Well, only one scale is still sort of protruding on her now and I don't see the red looking scratch thing. Maybe she just got hurt. Sometimes when she is chasing her man away from the food, she goes a little insane so maybe she hurt herself on something. I did not put meds. Doing a water change today. She is still eating and now she is digging up plants again. I guess she is making another nursery. I am glad she is okay. Even though I know she is only after food, I love how she darts up to the glass close to me when I come in the room or put my face near the tank.
