so sad some of my fishies died, scared more will

Hi

Well I posted while ago how one of my neons had swim bladder infection, have been using treatment, and while he improved and was ok, unfortunately infection seemed to go to one red eye tetra and then another, one died about 2 or 3 days ago and one today. symptoms were worse in the red eyes, while neon fellow bobbed along strangely, the red eyes went on side and would lie on bottom and i cold see were breathing and alive and theyd swim little then go to bottom, seemed much more severe

Why did it effect the red eyes who were very healthy bigger and stronger more than little neon guy.

I have just done a 50 % water change and used medicine treatment again. Usually do less %water change but think it needs it this time in effort to get rid of infection. I added some stress coat to it too. I am lucky my water supply is very good and if u test it before in tank amonia etc always 0 just where i live quality good. So i am hoping safe enough to have done 50% change, just did not see other option

Has anyone with more experience any insight on this situation, why red eyes died and neon ok, and what are chances other fish will get infection now

i will be so upset if more die, i love my wish fish as i call them, they are sweet little things i cant stand to just flush or bin them, i have to buty them in garden i am so sentimental and attached

sorry this so long

thanks

liz

Could just be that the neon happens to be more resistant to this particular infection.
Other than that, I'm unsure about the whys of this situation.

Don't feel too bad about needing to bury your fish. All of my fish are buried under plants that are particular to their personality/coloring (for example, Keiji, a bright-red betta, is buried under a Japanese Mountain Fire bush. The bush's foliage is flame-red)

Three fish are currently in the freezer, awaiting the spring thaw so they can be given a proper burial.

What meds have you used on them? Do you have a picture that you can post?

It may be that the red eyes are affected more because they're bigger.
