I just noticed my female betta has the raised scales and bloat symptomatic of dropsy. I isolated her and started treating with maracyn and maracyn-two, and I am treating the original tank too, just in case. My questions are, she was in a 29 gallon community tank what are the chances of my other fish getting it, and is there anything else I can do to prevent the others from getting it?

I plan on buying some Kanamycin and Epsom salt tomorrow.

Check the water conditions in the 29g tank and watch for signs of parasites. Dropsy is a symptom that can be caused by water conditions, parasites or tumors.
