Hi I'm in dire need of help please.
3 of my 5 zebra danio's have developed a white spot which sticks out of their bottom lip.
All my other fish are fine and water tests do not show up anything abnormal.
These fish are swimming around happily enough and do not seem erratic or to be scratching or rubbing and are still eating more food than the others.
I have done some research and do no this it is ich as it is only one spot on the lip. I do not think it is mouth fungus as it is not fluffy. Their spines look fine so I so not think it's TB. However they do seem to have a little whisker sticking out of their cheeks which i presume might be anchor worm however does not seem big enough or look the exact same to be this.

These are my first fish and first tank so I am still very naive and unknowledgeable. I have no meds so all i have done is a 25% water change. I do not have another tank to quaratine them but will look into this asap when go looking for advice and meds when LFS opens 2morow.
Any advice welcome please.

It could be mouth fungus It wont be cottony yet if it's just showing up..It can take a couple of days for it to look like that...How long have you noticed it on the fish?+

i thought i saw them looking strange a few days ago but it wasn't that noticable today it quite clear to see.

Kinda sounds like a fungus to me...when My fish had fungus it took a while for it to fully develope. Try some fungus meds..I used Maracyn for mine and the fungus cleared up pretty quick

Thanks will have to do some more research on that disease and medication before i put it in tank. Also need to find out if it will affect other fish or give trouble with water quality or good bacteria in filter.

I'm still worried about it spreading or possibly being TB.

I'd recommend treating them with a product called Rid-Fungus. It's an organic, herbal treatment for fungus that's not harmful to the fish or biological filter. It works pretty good on fungus and if it turns out to not be a fungus, you won't have stressed the fish needlessly. It does sound like a fungus though. Do you have a pic to post?

hmm did some more research general concensus seems to be mouth fungus normally mis treated with fungus and is normally bacterial problem so going to get both meds to be sure.

fish still ok for the moment

I have have been treating some tetras for the same thing and Melafix works for me....
