i dont know what the heck happened my tank has been going good for sometime now,fish were breeding and all.3 weeks ago i introduced 3 large fin tetras and everything seemed ok then my platties started acting weird by sitting on the bottom.water has always been good do 1/3 water change evry week and new filter every month(carbon).then i came home 2 days ago and found 6 dead fish.thought it was fin rot and maybe ich(heard being stress could make them prone to getting ich)started treatment for fin rot with melafix and pimafix well that went bad everything went down hill from there.now i have 1 mollie which so far has really shown no signs of illness.i had 3 types of tetras a pleco between 9 and 12 platties(babies hard to see with all the plants not sure how many ) and 1 mollie .going to get a quaritine tank sett up so this wont happen again.think it was the last fish introduced.any suggestion about how to clean out a starilize everything before stating again.including my live plants.

The same thing happened in my tiger barb tank when I put a algea eater in! The stupid algea eater ended up living killing everything else!

You could use a 1:19 solution of bleach:warm water or a vinegar-warm water mix to clean & sterilize a tank. Just rinse it out several times well and dry completely. Then use about 10 times the typical amount of dechlorinator when you first set it up.
