Guppy dead!

I woke up this morning and was checking the tanks and feeding the fish before dentist appt(Approx 8:30am) and I found one of my halfblack female guppies dead. She lost her whole tail. I don't know if the fish ate it or if it was severe fin rot or tuberculosis. I didn't see any spinal deformities, spots, or thinned stomach. Another of the females was staying at the top of the tank in the right hand side. And the other female was going up and down the corner picking at her. I mean constantly and fast up and down up and down, up and down. The male is swimming all around the tank and is acting normal. The female that was picking at the sickly guppy is now calm since I moved the other fish into the QT/Fry tank. And speaking of fry I woke up to one single fry. I got the fry net and put it in the tank with the male and 1 female and put the little guy in there. I hope he makes it, as well as the other guppys. I dont know what could have happened. Water parameters were perfect when I checked yesterday. I can only guess that they were already sick coming home. They dont show many symptoms though. The sick female has lost color in about half of her tail and is staying against the glass at the top shaking. I dont know what is going on. Someone please help! I want to help her make it.

Sometimes when a female is near delivering her load of babies the other fish in the tank will harass her while trying to eat the fry, that could have lead to deadly aggression and account for low number of fry. She could've had complications during birthing the fry and died, hence the low number of fry. She could've died of natural causes and the other female be the mother of the fry and she may just be hungry... I doubt if it was tuberculosis, that is actually not as common of a fish disease as people let on, and fin rot, even severe would take more than a day, I'm almost positive.

Maybe the others will settle in and relax.

As I have stated in other posts, guppies bought at shops are coming from Asia usually.
They are tranquilized during shipping.
A large number do not survive more than a few weeks after going through this.

Best of luck with the ones you still have and congrats on the fry.

If you can add something like Fish Protector or Stress Coat to the tanks - that might help. Liquid Vitamins like Vita-Chem also could help them out.
